Acupuncture, which I had never tried before, turned out to be a large contributor in my recovery. For many months, I had acupuncture sessions 3 times each week. The doctor was able to work on any affected body part and get immediate and cumulative results by reducing pain, increasing circulation, improving sensation (reducing numbness/tingling), and reducing stress. I used acupuncture both with and without medications depending on the severity and duration of that particular episode. Once the episodes stopped, I was able to scale back my acupuncture sessions to a “maintenance level” of once a month or so. Massage therapy has been especially important in keeping my CRPS “at bay”. The number of massage therapy appointments has depended on my symptoms.
